Harry Who?

It was the fourth of July again and Harry could hardly wait!  Once again it was the   big day.  Every fourth of July Mom took  Harry to the zoo for all of the festivities. Only this year was going to be different.  Harry had been practicing all of the new tricks that he had been learning with the new magic kit that he had got on his birthday.  He just knew he could entertain his friends when he seen them at the zoo. Harry knew every trick by heart.  He could make cards disappear and reappear.  He could guess what card that you would pick out of his deck.  Oh Harry had all sorts of tricks to share with his friends.  But first mom wanted to ride the train.  It circled it's way around the zoo and out over the lake and then back again.  It was terrific.  Harry was so excited.  And then the big moment that Harry had been waiting for all day long came along.  Suzie showed up giggling as always.  She was so happy to see Harry.  Harry didn't waste any time the first words out of his mouth  to Suzie was,"Hey Suzie I have a magic trick to show you."  Suzie giggled and then Harry began his magic tricks.  Suzie was so impressed, she thought Harry was totally awesome!  Later some other kids from school started arriving and talking with Harry and Suzie.  Mom talked with a friend of hers and took pictures of Harry and the kids from time to time.  

It wasn't long that a man came along and asked what was going on he noticed all of the kids surrounding Harry.

He watched as Harry performed his magic tricks and asked if he could take his picture.  Harry and mom said that that would be ok with them.  

After the magic show was over with, the gentleman told Harry that he was amazing and that he wanted to write an article about him and put his picture in the newspaper.  Harry was shocked he didn't know that the man was a newspaper reporter.

Mom discussed it with Harry and they both agreed they did not see any harm in it.  So the man agreed and told Harry that the article would be in the Sunday newspaper tomorrow.

The man thanked Harry and his mother and left.

Harry and mom soon were sitting down for lunch eating hotdogs at one of the tables out in front of the zoo.

Afterwards Harry and the other kids ran and played in the park until they were just about wore out.  So mom bought everyone a drink at the concession stand.

The band played in the park all evening long.  They played some wonderful music and everyone had a great time.

The fireworks that night lit up the sky and were splendid.  It was soon time for Harry and mom to go home.  It had been a long day.  

Sunday morning, before mom got up for the day, Harry was up and he shot out the front door like it was nobodies business.  He was so curious to see the newspaper.

And when he opened it up to the first page there he was front and center with a caption that read, Harry the newest Houdini mesmerizes everyone at the fourth of July festivities.  Harry couldn't believe it.  His mouth dropped open and he said Harry Who?
